The easy way to pay vehicle tax…
Many people today choose to buy their road tax disc online and that’s great. Did you realise though that it’s still so easy to pop in to your local post office branch and walk away with a new tax disc straight away?
Buying or renewing your vehicle tax at the Post Office is quick, instant and free (no service charge on top of the vehicle tax). All you need is your vehicle tax reminder (V11 form), a valid insurance certificate or cover note and a valid MOT certificate (if requested on your reminder form).
If you require a disabled vehicle tax disc you must take along your exemption certificate.
There are many ways you can pay for your tax disc at the Post Office;
- Cheque payable to Post Office Limited
- Debit card
- Cash
- Post Office Budget Card
- Postal Order
- Sterling travellers cheques
If you’re not renewing your vehicle tax because you’re not planning to use your vehicle on public roads, you’ll need to get a Statutory Off-Road Notification (SORN). These forms are also available at the Post Office.
